These chic works of mid-century design are a stunning example of the beloved Space Age Modernist design, Modernist design was made famous by Verner Panton (b. - d. 1926 - d. 1998). Panton is considered one of Denmark's most influential 20th-century furniture and interior designers, known as a master of shape and colour. Panton created innovative and futuristic designs in a variety of materials, especially plastics, and in vibrant and exotic colours.
The lampshades of this particular pair have been crafted from a Dusty Coral Pink fibre woven into a spherical cocoon, which both gives the lampshades a sharp silhouette and a tactile surface that invites touch. The lamp bases are shaped to the sleek, graduating form, commonly known as the 'Tulip' form.
The signature curves of Panton era design shine through beautifully in these lamps and make an excellent addition to a room featuring Modernist, Retro, or Contemporary decor.
