This expertly crafted work of vintage Expressive studio pottery brings with it vibes of Modernist and Brutalist design.
The base of the piece has been shaped to broadly an oval-lozenge and from this, the vase has been built upwards and outwards to create its beautifully rounded form. The final shape is similar to that of an abstract Pear, upon which is the softly sculpted and geometric detail. The detail is seemingly overlapping and gives the effect of there being three vases slotted together as one.
The glaze decor is a poetic blend of matte grey and blue tones that are interspersed with accents of brown, the final effect is as if this piece has been carved out of Blue-Grey Granite.
The combination of Modernist and Brutalist influences in the form, detail and glaze is seamless and enables this elegantly expressive piece suit a room with Contemporary, Modernist or even Industrial themed decor.
