Presenting an elegant work of hand blown Czech art glass in Modernist design by Rubin glassworks.
This piece has a wonderfully biomorphic vibe to its form, with the clear glass body being reminiscent of a teardrop shape. The sides of the vase bears two trailing Cobalt blue drops which are prominent towards the base and fuse into the body at the neck. The effect of the drops is very similar to the 'Tadpole' decor seen on Kralik art glass.
A BIT OF HISTORY
Unfortunately little is known about the Rubin glassworks, however, it is known that Rubin glassworks came to be when Chribska glassworks became privatised after the fall of communism in the 1990s.
Excellent. No chips, cracks or scratches. There is faint use wear (such as mild movement marks on the base of the vase) that is commensurable with age of the piece. Original 'Czech Republic, Hand made, Rubin Glass' label is present.
