THE ITEM
Aldo Londi of Bitossi's Rimini Blu series was so popular in the 70s that many of the other famous ceramic producers created their own version, and so the inspiration for this Bay Keramic horse was born.

The blended blues and turquoises which make up the gloss glaze and the inscribed symbols in the decor of this horse were heavily influenced by the Rimini Blu series, which itself was inspired by the Adriatic sea.
The pose and size of this sculpture makes for a noble and elegant looking piece and would suit being a solo statement piece or the centrepiece of a collection.

A BIT OF HISTORY
The company was founded by Eduard Bay in Western Germany in 1933. The production was initially mostly utilitarian. From the early 1950s, decorative items were introduced and one of the most prominent designers during the late 50s - early 60s was Bodo Mans, whose colourful designs were very popular at the time and are very collectable nowadays. Bay Keramik had a very wide range of glazes and designs, and produced some rare speciality glazes, sadly the company ceased production in the 1980s.
