THE ITEM
Presenting a stylish piece of late vintage Kitchenalia, simple yet refined in design.

The shape of the gourd-shaped body gives away it's dual purpose as a oil and vinegar flask and the decor is as equally elegant. The porcelain is faintly and concentrically lined on the entire body and finished with two simple encircling bands of green and orange at the flask's collar.

An bonus to this piece is that it is made with Thomas' 'spülmaschinenfest' porcelain, or 'dishwasher safe' porcelain, so easy to use and easy to clean ...!

An adorable piece that would suit a dining table with Vintage, Retro or Modernist inspired decor.

A BIT OF HISTORY
The company was founded in 1872 as small decoration company under the name of 'Jaeger, Thomas & Co.' (1872 until 1898). During the first few years everything was fine but after various disputes with Jaeger regarding the product range and funding of special projects, Fritz Thomas decided to quit the company in 1898 to form 'Thomas & Ens'.

The near instantaneous success of Thomas & Ens caught the attention of Rosenthal and following Ens departure in 1907, Rosenthal moved to become the major shareholder in 1908 and Thomas was run as an independent subsidiary of Rosenthal.

CONDITION
Excellent - there is little evidence of use (mostly present in the replaceable corks) and there are a few light movement marks to the underside on the base of the flash. Natural wear is commensurable with the age of the piece, please see photos as part of the condition report. The base of the flask is marked with the 'Thomas Germany spülmaschinenfest' mark, used between 1978 to 1998.
