THE ITEM

This simply formed yet elegant work of Swedish Brutalist Modernist design was crafted in the Simlångsdalen locality with a population of around 590 inhabitants.

True to the roots of Modernist design, the simplicity of this vase speaks to an honest and raw expression of the natural material. The cylinder form is evenly balanced and brings to the forefront, the richly dense and dark sand, khaki hued stoneware clay.

The decor is a simple Sgraffito, a network of incised criss-crossing lines which create a simple pattern on the panels of the vase. The exterior is finished with a simple, clear gloss glaze and a glossy white in the interior.
