THE ITEM
This elegant Art Deco ceramic piece is a work of German Bauhaus design. Bauhaus [tr. 'building house'] originated as a German school of arts and art from the movement dominated many outlets of experimental European art throughout the 1920s and 1930s.

Design characteristics focused on function and the Minimalist use of colour and linear as well as geometrical forms and shapes.

This particular piece reflects classic Bauhaus design characteristics in both its form and the aerographic decor. The popular lozenge form of the body is shaped like the overlapping of two extended half-circles and is finished with a 'reverse J' shaped handle. The geometric design decor has been applied with the 'SpritzDekor' aerographic technique which creates the gradient in the colours of the shapes and angles decorating the piece.
